So, this is my first newsletter in the new style! It’s been quite a busy week, I did a lot of research for my Feel good after 40 project. I also did work on a marketing strategy.
Funding a gentleman-scientist lifestyle
As I wrote before, a gentleman-scientist lifestyle requires money. That means selling. Not something I have lots of experience in. Uncovered grounds, so to say. Perfect for a gentleman-scientist to explore!
So I did. I have worked out a marketing strategy for the Feel good project. The idea is to use different channels:
Substack for updates on my project. Free articles with general updates, and Premium content with in-depth articles (see below for the first two) and the opportunity to be part of the project
Pinterest, to promote my articles on Substack, and to promote products I develop along the way. Pinterest is not fast-paced like Linkedin, for instance. Posts have a longer lifetime: months or sometimes years. This allows me to focus more on the quality of the content, instead of the quality.
Podcast. I plan to do a podcast every other week, in which I update you about what I found out in the two weeks prior to the podcast. This is still in the making, I hope to release the first episode somewhere in january. Also meant to draw attention to the project, of course.
I have a 2-week cycle of writing articles, and promoting them through these platdorms.
This strategy feels very doable for me. I can batch the different work that needs to be done, so I can manage my energy effectively. Also, it offers me the chance to tweak and experiment with what works for me.
I’ll be writing a more in-depth article on my marketing strategy, including how I plan to monitor my efforts.
ResolutionReady
Another experiment I’m trying, is digital products. My first product is ResolutionReady, a 12-week, science-backed accountability program that turns your New Year’s resolutions into lasting, meaningful habits. Each week, you’ll receive expert guidance, motivational insights, and practical tools that help you stay on track, overcome obstacles, and keep growing long after January ends.
Ready to commit to real change this year?
Feel good after 40
The first article for the Feel good after 40 project zooms in on the different pillars of my first project, where I dive into the physical part of well being. Writing this article turned out to be a very good start, because it made clear on which of the pillars I had work to do. Also, you can’t measure improvement without a goal, so I go into those as well. You can read it here:
Making it personal
After writing that first article, I was inspired to really get started on the actual experiment, and how to go about that. I tried out different adjustments to my workout-routine, and decided on the tools I will be using along the way.
